Pupil Leadership

At Hexthorpe Primary, offer a range of Pupil Leadership Roles throughout the school. Each of these responsibilities, gives the pupils an active role in influencing decisions about these issues as well as in the implementation of these decisions.

 

School Council:

Our School Councillors nominated themselves for the position and were elected in by their peers. The meet with Mrs Ileana (Learning Mentor). The role of our School Councillors is to respond to Pupil Voice.

 

Mini Police:

Our Mini Police applied for the position by completing an application form. They meet with Mrs Garbett (Pupil and Family Liaison Officer & DSL) and our PCSOs Emma Langstaff and Soneel Minhas. The role of our Mini Police is to work on community projects, including safety and also to help our school become more eco-friendly.

 

Junior Leadership Team:

Our Junior Leadership Team (JLT) are in Year 6. They applied for the position by completing an application form. The mee with Mrs Harrison (Principal). The Junior Leadership Team’s role is to work on the school’s priorities for improvement.

 

Alongside these roles, there are also additional responsibilities including Phonic Buddies (Year 6 children supporting Year 1 children with their phonics); Playground Buddies and in-class responsibilities.
