Being Brilliant!

Vision

Children who attend Hexthorpe Primary acquire the skills, knowledge, understanding and ambition to prepare them for life beyond the classroom. Everything we do as a school is to ensure that the children achieve their very best, and that they are socially and emotionally ready for academic success. We provide children, their families and the local community with a school that brings out the best in everyone and stimulates a desire for lifelong learning.

We celebrate diversity and uniqueness, and foster an environment of care, support and inclusivity.  We recognise we are stronger together and are proud to belong to our school community. We encourage children to be responsible and provide opportunities to ensure they are well prepared for the future. Children are actively involved in making decisions through pupil voice and pupil leadership including the School Council, Junior Leadership Team and Mini- Police.

Our school is a caring place where children and adults make valuable contributions and are inspired to think for themselves and feel confident to meet new challenges. At Hexthorpe Primary, children are encouraged to develop into mature young adults, who uphold British Values and are prepared for an ever-changing world.

This is exemplified through our Values:

  • Scholarship – providing our children with a knowledge rich, vocabulary focused curriculum that encourages them to become independent scholars in their own right.
  • Curiosity – empowering our children to ask questions and become critical thinkers.
  • Tenacity – ensuring that our children will have opportunities and experiences that they can pursue with tenacity, resilience and drive.
  • Aspiration – presenting our children with an awareness of the opportunities that are available to them and the desire to want to achieve them.
  • Unity – demonstrating the importance of togetherness as a school and community.
