We are passionate about giving every child in the Hexthorpe community the best possible start in life. We believe learning should be engaging, meaningful, and something children look forward to each day.
Our curriculum is carefully planned to match the National Curriculum and to meet the needs of our diverse and vibrant school community. From the early years right through to Year 6, children explore a wide range of subjects including English, maths, science, geography, history, music, computing, art and PE. Our lessons are creative, engaging, and designed to help children build their knowledge step by step, always encouraging curiosity and a love of learning.
We are proud to promote values that are woven through everyday school life. Aspiration is a big part of what we do. We help children to believe in themselves and aim high in everything they do. Confidence grows as they learn to speak up, share their ideas and believe that their voice matters. We model and teach respect by showing kindness to each other, celebrating our differences and working together as a community.
We have high expectations for all our pupils. We want them to take pride in their work, to give things a go even when they’re tricky, and to keep going when things feel tough. It’s not just about what they learn, but how they learn – with resilience, effort and a positive attitude.
Our amazing staff are always on hand to support, encourage and challenge our pupils to do their very best. We celebrate progress and achievements big and small, and we work closely with families to make sure every child feels supported and valued.
At Hexthorpe, we aim to nurture confident, respectful and ambitious learners who are ready to take on the world. One exciting step at a time.
